Green Beans with Almonds
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 4
Serving Size: 1/2 cup
Ingredients
- 2 cups (16 oz.) frozen cut green beans, thawed
- 1/4 cup sliced celery
- 1 TB. Unsalted butter
- 2 TB. Slivered almonds
Place a steamer basket in ½ inch of water in a saucepan (water should not touch the bottom of the basket). Place beans in the basket. Cover tightly and heat to boiling. Reduce heat and steam beans 10 to 12 minutes. Drain. Meanwhile, in a medium skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter. Add celery and almonds and cook 5 minutes or until celery is crisp-tender. Add beans and toss gently.

A classic dish prepared simply. You add almonds and butter to the green beans and cook until the celery is just barely tender.
