Are You At Risk?

Millions of people have diabetes and they don't even know it.

Diabetes is a silent disease. Without diagnosis and treatment, diabetes may result in long-term complications, such as: blindness, heart attack, stroke, kidney disease or amputation.

The rate of diabetes in the United States has risen to levels beyond epidemic, according to the surgeon general's report. Annually, 1.3 million new cases of diabetes are diagnosed.

An estimated 120,000 Utah residents have diabetes.

Diabetes is a serious disease, but the complications of diabetes can be delayed or prevented with frequent monitoring, proper nutrition, exercise, and medication.
