Vana Raman, M.D.

Vana RamanDr. Vandana (Vana) Raman is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology at the University of Utah School of Medicine.  During her pediatric residency at Michigan State University Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies, she received the Resident Teaching Excellence Award as well as the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award from Michigan State University.  Dr. Raman completed her fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston where she where she received the Gold Humanism Honor Society Award. She has done research work in areas of Type 1 diabetes and pancreatitis and has given presentations at national meetings.  She was also acknowledged by the American Academy of Clinical Endocrinologists with the Young Investigator Award in 2007.   While at Baylor she worked closely with the Inpatient Diabetes Program and in 2008 helped establish the Pediatric Lipid Clinic at Texas Children’s Hospital. She has a special interest in lipid disorders and diabetes in children.

Dr. Raman is board certified in pediatrics and in pediatric endocrinology and plans to continue her research in hyperlipidemia and diabetes  in children here in Utah.
