Cardiac Mechanical Support

Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS), through the use of a ventricular assist device (VAD), is designed to provide short- or long-term cardiac support for patients whose hearts are damaged or diseased and unable to provide adequate blood flow. VAD therapy, along with heart transplantation, is the most advanced surgical treatment option for heart failure.

Our Cardiac Mechanical Support (CMS) team consists of cardiac surgeons; transplant cardiologists and healthcare professionals dedicated to providing the latest treatments using ventricular assist devices. Backed by registered nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, cardiac rehabilitation specialists, dieticians, social workers, and financial coordinators, the CMS team provides comprehensive care from evaluation through treatment.
