Osman Sanyer, M.D.
Osman Sanyer is a native of Wisconsin, where he received a B.S. in zoology and his M.D. from the University of Wisconsin--Madison. Dr. Sanyer completed his Family Medicine residency in 1986, at the University of Rochester, in Rochester, New York. Since 1986 he has been a member of the DFPM faculty. Dr. Sanyer was initially a clinical instructor, advancing to the rank of Assistant Professor in 1994. From 1986 through 1996 he practiced with the Salt Lake Community Health Centers, caring for the medically underserved in the Salt Lake Valley, with a great deal of emphasis on maternal and child health. In January of 1997, Dr. Sanyer joined University Family Medicine. He served as the Residency Program Director from 2002 to 2005, and now is Associate Residency Director. Dr. Sanyer's academic interests include: behavioral medicine, obstetrics, case-based learning, and medical error reduction. Personal interests include nordic and alpine skiing, backpacking and hiking, fly fishing, music and literature. His spouse, Amy, is involved with the not-for-profit art community in Salt Lake City. They have two relentlessly active children.
