Professional Interests: Dr. Smith has proudly served in this Community Clinics location for 25 years. His professional interests include children's vision, sports vision, contact lenses and general optometry.
Personal Interests: In his spare time, Dr. Smith enjoys racquetball, fly fishing and other outdoor activities. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, six daughters, and a growing number of grandchildren. Dr. Smith speaks Portuguese.
Education: Dr. Smith attended BYU and the Southern California College of Optometry, where he received his degree in 1977. He is a member of the Utah Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
Patient Health Tip: "I always remind my patients to wear proper eye protection. This includes quality sun protection when outdoors, making sure the sunglasses protect against ultra violet radiation. Also, protective eyewear should be used when using power tools, including string trimmers, power saws, nail guns, lawn mowers, etc."
