What is Cardiac Imaging?

University Health Care’s Cardiovascular Service Line offers world-class imaging services. State of the art technology, collaborative research and education programs allow us to provide the best in patient care.

Our Cardiac Imaging scanners have the most advanced Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance (MR) technologies. A dual source Siemens CT Definition is used for Cardiac Imaging. Our Siemens Avanto and TrioTim 3.0T MRI scanners are available for cardiac and vascular imaging respectively.

Chest pain can be caused by several medical conditions. In one 5-minute CT scan, we can quickly and accurately diagnose cardiac vessel disease. During this same scan we also look for other causes of chest pain such as pulmonary embolism, aortic dissection and pneumothorax.
