Clinical Faculty Openings

Share your experience and clinical expertise with the next generation of nurses! Our Clinical Faculty Associates (CFAs) are responsible for all aspects of clinical and lab instruction in nursing fundamentals and physical assessment. Under the direct supervision of the College of Nursing faculty of record, you will have the opportunity and be encouraged to:

  • Supervise 7 - 10 undergraduate nursing students per semester in clinical rotations at your workplace.
  • Augment your existing clinical skills and knowledge by acquiring formal education resulting in a Master's degree, Post-Master's certificate or specific coursework related to teaching nursing, clinical instruction and nursing education.
  • Receive mentorship and guidance from master teachers at the University of Utah College of Nursing.

Clinicial Faculty Associates work 20 hours per week during 16 weeks of the semester (13 in summer); approximately 15 hours are in direct clinical supervision and 5 hours for patient assignment and evaluation of student paperwork. If you would like a full-time position, you can augment your teaching hours with clinical assignments in any number of our units.
